About Our Alleppey Homestay

Alleppey Homes is a genuine family residence in the backwater village area of South Aryad, Alappuzha — roughly 10–15 minutes from Alleppey town centre and a short auto or cab ride from the main boat jetty at the Finishing Point. When you stay here, you are not in a converted guesthouse — you are staying with us, in our home, as our guests.

The property sits within a private walled garden filled with coconut palms, banana trees, and flowering plants. It has off-street parking, a quiet garden area where guests often eat breakfast in the mornings, and the kind of stillness at night that you simply cannot find in a hotel. The surrounding lanes lead directly into the backwater village — canals, paddy fields, local temples — all within walking distance.

We offer two room types. Our Non-AC Traditional Room (₹1,500/night) is the authentic Kerala experience: ceiling fan, natural cross-ventilation through wooden-shuttered windows, traditional tile roof. Our AC Comfort Room (₹2,500/night) adds air conditioning and includes all meals — breakfast, lunch, and dinner — as well as cultural guidance, local tour arrangements, and a more comprehensive hospitality package.

Every morning starts with a full traditional Kerala breakfast prepared from scratch: puttu with kadala curry, or appam with vegetable stew, with fresh chai and filter coffee. If you eat lunch or dinner with us, expect rice, sambar, two or three vegetable preparations, a fish or chicken curry made with backwater-caught fish when available, and payasam on good days.

We have been arranging houseboat cruises from the homestay since we opened — day cruises, overnight stays, and combined homestay-plus-houseboat packages that give you both the village immersion and the water experience.
